There is a lot of buzz going around about MicroNeedling, but many people still don’t know what the treatment entails. We want to walk you through exactly what to expect from a treatment, as well as result expectations.
Your treatment will begin by arriving an hour early for numbing cream to be applied. It is best to arrive without makeup, but if you come straight from work we can most certainly take it off for you. Once the numbing cream has had time to sufficiently kick in, we will begin treatment.
The tool used in MicroNeedling is called the Collagen P.I.N. It is a hand held wand that contains 36 tiny needles that work together to cause controlled wounding. Wounding? Some get a little nervous with that word! Totally understandable, pain is not fun! That is why we apply the numbing cream, we want you to be as comfortable as possible, but also get the most aggressive results possible.
We begin by applying a customized serum that will be penetrated into the pores via the Collagen P.I.N. Treatment begins with the forehead, where we make tiny circular motions with the wand ensuring that every pore and skin cell is treated. We will continue from the forehead onto the cheeks and then down onto the chin. Thanks to the numbing cream, minimal discomfort should be expected. The actual treatment portion lasts about 30-45 minutes.
Every person’s post phase is different. I will walk you through mine. That night I felt similar to having a sunburn. During the day I was a little itchy and still felt a little tender, but it wasn’t anything that got in the way of my work day.
