What is Dysport?
Dysport® is a muscle relaxer that is very similar to Botox. Composed of Botulinum toxin type A, Dysport can soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Though similar to Botox in terms of origin and application, Dysport is more fluid under the skin, spreading out to help to immobilize the tiny muscles around the eyes and lips, smoothing the skin more effectively. Botox tends to stay localized to the injection site, while Dysport has been found to spread further from the injection site, making it ideal for patients seeking to treat larger areas at once. Louisville Laser is highly trained and experienced in administering Dysport treatments.
Dysport minimizes the appearance of lines and wrinkles without hindering facial expression. It is especially beneficial for frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead lines, and lines at the sides of your eyes (crow’s feet).
What will happen during my Dysport procedure?
Dysport is injected into five points between and over the eyebrows through a tiny needle. The injection time lasts only a few minutes. Injection pain is reported by most patients to be brief and very minimal.
What will be involved in my recovery?
Some patients experience minor temporary tenderness and small red bumps at the injection site. No bandages or dressings are needed. Most patients return to work and normal activities immediately. While there are no restrictions, you will be cautioned to avoid pushing or rubbing on the treated areas for the remainder of the day.
What results can I expect from my treatment?
You can expect natural-looking softening or elimination of wrinkles in the treatment area. Results can last up to 4 months, and after that touch ups are recommended.
